NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston women's soccer player Samantha Place (Newton, NJ) has been named Little East Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for her play during the week of September 29 to October 5, it was announced today by the conference office. She becomes the third women's soccer player this season to earn top weekly rookie honors for UMB. Place began the season by netting her first collegiate goal vs. Westfield State College on August 30 in the Husson College Invitational.
The Beacons are currently 3-5-1 on the season, including a 2-0-1 mark in Little East Conference play to give them seven points and a spot atop the league standings as well a school-record for victories in conference play.
