Nuha Muntasser Racks Up Third Straight Little East Rookie of the Week Award

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—For the third week in a row Nuha Muntasser (Braintree, Mass.) laid claim to being the top rookie in the Little East Conference, as the league office honored Muntasser as the Little East Rookie of the Week Monday afternoon.

Muntassser finished 2-0 on the week to help UMass Boston earn a spot in the Little East Conference Tournament for the first time since 2011. The freshman from Braintree, Mass. clinched UMB's playoff spot Saturday with her win at number one singles, to give UMass Boston their first-ever win over Plymouth State University. 

She wrapped up the regular-season with a six-game winning streak at number two doubles and earned victories in 10 of her 11 final matches to wrap up the season.

Muntasser finishes the regular-season with a Little East high four Rookie of the Week awards and the eighth-most wins in a single-season in UMB history (16).

UMass Boston will travel to UMass Dartmouth Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. for the Little East Quarterfinals.
