DARTMOUTH, Mass.—Host UMass Dartmouth handed UMass Boston a 9-0 defeat Saturday afternoon at the UMD Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Corsairs swept doubles play and held on for one three-set victory in singles action, to earn third 9-0 win of the season.
UMass Dartmouth took the first two singles decisions by an 8-1 score at first singles and 8-2 advantage at third doubles. In the closest of the three matches, freshman Meaghan Moriarty (Norton, Mass.) and Chloe Gates (Plymouth, Mass.) fell 8-3 at second doubles.
The Corsairs easily cruised to a win with four quick singles victories, before UMass Boston put the pressure on the hosts at fourth and sixth singles.
Freshman Fatema Abdoo (Springfield, Mass.) stretched the first set the distance, before falling 7-5, 6-1 at sixth singles.
In the final match to finish, Gates pushed the match the distance at fourth singles. Gates won the first set 6-1, before falling 6-2 in the second set. She went back and forth with Rachel Aftandilian, before eventually falling 1-6, 6-2, 10-7.
