GONZALEZ AND KLOCZEWIAK RECEIVE LITTLE EAST WOMEN'S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM HONORS

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston women's tennis players junior Carolina Gonzalez (Bridgewater, MA and freshman Anitra Kloczewiak (Newton, MA) were named to the Little East Conference All-Star First Team it was announced by the conference today.

Gonzalez and Kloczewiak were named to the LEC First Team at number one doubles. The pair compiled a 6-5 overall mark at number one doubles for the season, including 6-3 in dual match play. The tandem was the team to beat in Little East Conference play with a 5-2 record, including wins in four of their first five conference matches. The pair registered a 9-7 victory over the first doubles team of Lauren Post and Jenna Kosiba from LEC team champion Western Connecticut State University on September 19 to win the tie-breaker and give them First Team All-Star status.

Gonzalez posted an 8-5 doubles record for the season seventh-highest total in school history, while Kloczewiak's mark of 7-6 gave her the 10th-most wins in school annals. Gonzalez added a 4-7 singles mark, including 2-0 at number four singles, to her record for a combined mark of 12-12. Kloczewiak, a Newton North High School product, posted a 3-10 singles record, including a 3-7 mark at number one singles.

In just two seasons, Gonzalez already ranks seventh on the UMass Boston career list for doubles victories with 14, while standing eighth with 11 singles wins. The graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School, has compiled a 25-23 combined record to place her eighth on the school's combined wins list.

UMass Boston finished the season with a 2-9 overall record, including 0-7 in LEC play.
