NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - After another standout performance at Saturday's NCAA Division III New England Championship meet, sophomore sprinter Hulerie McGuffie (Lynn, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the fifth time this season, setting a new program record for most weekly honors by one athlete.
In Saturday's championship meet she recorded the second fastest time in program history in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.91 seconds to earn fifth place overall. In the preliminary she tripped the timer with an impressive time of 7.92 seconds to earn a spot in the final. She would also help the 4x200 meter relay team to a fourth place finish as the four sprinters recorded a combined time of 46.26 seconds.
With only two meets left before the national championship, the Lynn native sits tied for 30th in the 60 meter dash (7.89), 10th in the 200 meter dash (25.24), and tied for 24th in the 400 meter dash (57.87).
