Track and Field Closes Out Day 2 of ECAC Indoor Championship Meet

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore sprinter Hulerie McGuffie (Lynn, Mass.) posted a second place finish in the 200 meter dash, while junior high jumper Tylor Hart (Newton, Mass.) took fourth to close out the final day of the 2014 ECAC Division III Indoor Championship Meet Saturday afternoon at the Reggie Lewis Center.

For McGuffie, she posted a final time of 25.45 seconds to record the fastest time by a New England sprinter.  The Lynn native finished out the heat a mere .16 seconds behind Shailah Williams of Rowan University (N.J.).

Hart's afternoon saw the Newton native record his second highest jump of college career as he recorded a leap of 6-08.00 feet.  The junior still holds the program record in the event after posting a jump of 6-08.25 feet at two different meets.

In the women's high jump Renee O'Brien (Stoneham, Mass.) finished tied for 10th with her jump of 5-02.50 feet.  Shawn Lawson (Westford, Mass.) was also in action at Saturday's championship meet as he finished the event with a time of 23.02 to take 32nd place.

With Saturday's meet concluded the NCAA will announce this year's competitors for the Indoor Championship meet, which will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Provisionally, McGuffie has qualified for this year's championship in both the 200 and 400 meter dashes.  The official competitors list will be announced this Monday at 9 a.m. on or on
