NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – After an impressive showing at last week's NCAA Division III New England Championship meet, high jumpers Carl Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) and Renee O'Brien (Stoneham, Mass.), and sprinter Hulerie McGuffie (Lynn, Mass.) were each recognized by the Little East Conference Weekly Honors program.
Joseph and O'Brien were each named Field Athletes of the Week, while McGuffie earned another Track Athlete of the Week honor.
For Joseph he earned the weekly honor after winning the high jump at the New England regional with a leap of 6-09.75 feet, matching his season best. O'Brien set a new program record at the championship with a leap of 5-06.00 feet, which earned her a third place finish overall.
McGuffie, earned her second straight weekly honor, after finishing the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.55 seconds. She would also recorded a time of 24.80 seconds in the 200 meter dash, before helping the 4x100 meter relay team to a second place finish with a time of 47.79 seconds. Her day got off to a near record setting start as she finished .01 seconds away from tying the all-time mark in the 100.
