PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After a huge weekend at the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship meet freshman Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) and the women's 4x200-meter relay team have earned conference weekly honors.
For Jonathas, she was named the Rookie Field Athlete of the Week, after earning gold medals in both the high jump and the long jump. The native of Haiti set a new program record for gold medals with four at Saturday's championship. In the long jump she recorded a final distance of 18-03.25 feet, while in the high jump she posted a final height of 5-01.75 feet.
The 4x200-meter relay also won gold on Saturday. The team of Jonathas, Olivia Burnes (Paxton, Mass.), Lexy Bean (Danvers, Mass.), and Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.) posted a combined time of 1:45.25, which set a new MASCAC record.
