Jonathas Named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week for a Third Time

NEW ORLEANS, La. – After another impressive weekend, freshman standout Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) has been named the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Athlete of the Week for an impressive third straight week.

Over the weekend, Jonathas recorded the fastest time in the country in the 400-meter dash at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championship.  With her time of 54.01 seconds, the freshman from Haiti now boasts the eighth fastest time in Division III history in the event.  It was also the fastest time in the 400-meter dash since UMB's Hulerie McGuffie '16 recorded a time of 53.55 at the NCAA Outdoor Championship meet.

To-date, Jonathas owns the fastest times in the country in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes.  In the national record book she stands first in the 200, third in the 100, and now eighth in the 400.
