SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – This Sunday, senior volleyball members Cassy Hanneman (Denver, Colo.) and Molly Rattigan (Dorchester, Mass.) will represent UMass Boston as part of the 2011 New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic, which will be held at UMass Boston. The two seniors will join 31 other players from New England, and will compete in various competitions beginning at 10 a.m., which will lead up to the All-Star match at 11:30 a.m.
LEXINGTON, Kentucky – Just days after being announced All-Region selections, junior middle Shannon Thompson (Moorpark, Calif.) and senior setter Cassy Hanneman (Denver, Co.) have been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans, with Thompson earning a Third Team selection, and Hanneman an Honorable Mention selection.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Trailing 2-0 going into the third set, volleyball clawed their way back to force a fourth set, unfortunately, the Beacons rally would not hold-up as the top-seeded Pride of Springfield College (34-2) defeated UMass Boston (28-5) three sets to one to win the 2011 NCAA Division III East Regional title Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 700 fans.

BOSTON, Mass. - A fan bus will be available tomorrow afternoon to transport all fans to Springfield College to support volleyball as they battle Springfield for an NCAA Regional title. The bus will leave the Clark Athletic Center around 1 p.m. The championship is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Throughout the 2011 NCAA Division III East Regional tournament, Live Stats, Video and Twitter updates will be available, for all fans that cannot make it to this year's tournament. In the first round your Beacons will face NYU-Polytechnic at 12:30 p.m. from Springfield College's James Naismith Court.
