AMHERST, Mass. – Led by Eileen Shi's (San Francisco, Calif.) 11 kills and 12 digs volleyball recorded their 20th win of the season as they cruised to a 3-0 win over SUNY Canton, on day one of the Amherst College Hall of Fame Tournament Friday evening at LeFrak Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Shi's night was solid from start to finish as the sophomore led the Beacons with a .364 hitting percentage. UMass Boston did get off to a slow start against their non-conference opponent, but managed to pull out a 25-21 win in the first set. In the second set, the Beacons began to hit their stride as they cruised to a 25-18 win. In the final set, the Beacons dominated the frame as they as they earned a 25-12 victory, thanks to a .424 hitting percentage.
Also having a strong night was Julia Murphy (Canton, Mass.) who finished with 10 kills and a .320 hitting percentage. The senior also had four block assists in the victory. Elizabeth Glavan (Edina, Minn.) carried the Beacons back row with her 22 digs. Setters Rachel Maslach (Berlin Center, Ohio) and Pepper Baker (Tallahassee, Fla.) combined for 30 assists respectively, with Maslach also scoring three aces.
