Kevin Kirchhoff is currently in his second season on the UMass Boston bench. Kirchhoff joined the Beacons coaching staff after a two-year stint at Elmira College in Elmira, New York where he helped build the first varsity men’s volleyball program, while also working with the women’s program as well.
A 2010 graduate of Nazareth College, Kirchhoff played four years as a setter on the nationally ranked men’s volleyball team. During his time with the Golden Flyers, Kirchhoff served as a team captain and helped the program to the 2010 NECVA Championships and Molten Final Four.
While as a player, Kirchhoff began his coaching career in 2009 as he served as the head coach of the boy’s club team and assistant coach of the varsity girls’ team at Penfield High School. After graduating from Nazareth with a degree in History, he continued his education at Elmira, where he eventually earned his master’s degree in Literacy Education in 2012.
On top of his coaching responsibilities, Kirchhoff will also be working as an assistant to the Senior Academic Counselor for Athletics and will be pursuing his second master’s degree.
