QUINCY, MA - Junior outside hitter Kate McWhorter (Bakersfield, CA) spiked for a team-high 16 kills and committed just one attack error to hit .405 for the match to lead the University of Massachusetts Boston volleyball team at Eastern Nazarene College this afternoon in Quincy, MA, 25-12, 25-18, 25-14. The Beacons have now won nine straight matches, including 11 of their last 12, to improve to 18-7, while the Crusaders fall to 9-13.

McWhorter also added six digs and a season-high four total blocks to her day for UMass Boston, while freshman setter Cassy Hanneman (Denver, CO) directed the offense with 29 assists in addition to a pair of aces, five digs and a pair of kills. Freshman middle hitter Molly Rattigan (Dorchester, MA) fired a team-high five aces and added five kills, three digs and two blocks. Junior Megan MacAuley (Upland, CA) led the defense with 11 digs.

The Beacons will be in action again when they host Pine Manor College in their final regular-season home match on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m.
