DANBURY, Conn. – Volleyball continued to add to their record setting win-streak by recording a 3-0 Little East Conference win over Western Connecticut State University (18-7, 2-3 LEC), the victory is the 22nd straight for the Beacons (22-2, 5-0 LEC) as they defeated the Colonials 25-22, 25-12, 25-15 Tuesday evening at The O’Neill Center.
Helping the Beacons to the win was the AVCA National Division III Player of the Week Shannon Thompson (Moorpark, CA). Thompson posted a match-high 15 kills. Setter Cassy Hanneman paced the offense with 35 assists.
Corrine Porter (Huntington Beach, CA) and Molly Rattigan (Dorchester, MA) also posted double-figures in kills to help the Beacons remain undefeated in conference play. Defensively, Kayla Wilson (San Jose, CA) posted 12 digs in the win, while Thompson and Kirsten Morrison (North Reading, MA) were dominant at the net.
Volleyball returns to action tomorrow evening when they travel to Wellesley College for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
