BOSTON, Mass.—Fresh off one of their most successful seasons in program history, UMass Boston Men's and Women's Cross Country announced their 2017 schedule on Thursday afternoon.
The Beacons will compete at five regular season meets and two postseason meets this fall.
The season kicks off on Saturday, September 2, when the Beacons travel to Fitchburg, Massachusetts to compete at the Jim Sheehan Alumni Invitational.
From there, UMass Boston will take a week off, before traveling to UMass Dartmouth for the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs Invitational on September 16.
UMass Boston will stay local over the next month, as they will compete at Franklin Park on three occasions. On September 23, the Beacons will compete in the 49th Annual Codfish Bowl Meet.
The Beacons will wrap up the regular season with two meets in one week at Franklin Park. UMass Boston will compete at the NEICAAA New England Championship Meet on Saturday, October 13, before running at the Emmanuel College Saints Invitational on Friday October 13.
The next two weeks will be spent gearing up for the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship Meet. This year's Cross Country Championships will be hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday October 28.
UMass Boston will hope to close out the schedule with a trip to NCAA New England Regionals on Saturday November 11. Last season, UMass Boston sent 12 total athletes to NCAA Regionals, with six coming from both teams.
