The UMass Boston Sports Medicine staff provides prevention,
evaluation, management and treatment of athletic injuries to UMB
varsity athletes. Our staff includes licensed and board certified
athletic trainers and an orthopedic physician. We are committed to
providing the best possible care for all of our student
athletes.
Location & Hours
The Athletic Training Room is located on the lower level of the Clark Athletic Center directly across from the main offices. The training room will be open two hours prior to all traditional season contests until one hour after the conclusion of the contest.
A licensed athletic trainer will be available at all
traditional-season home contests. Nontraditional season home
contests will have a licensed athletic trainer or an Emergency
Medical Technician on site.
Visiting Teams:
PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE if your team is traveling without an
athletic trainer, especially if your team requires any special
attention.
Equipment is available in the training room on the first floor of the Clark Athletic Center. Ice, water, water bottles, Vacuum Splints, and crutches will be available at all home traditional season contests. AED and oxygen will be on site. Non-traditional game coverage will consist of ice, water and water bottles.
The UMass Boston athletic training staff will be more than accommodating to opposing teams in providing pre-game taping. Visiting teams must supply their own tape and wraps. The use of moist heat and whirlpools by the athletes must be pre-arranged by the visiting University/College.
