Katie O’Sullivan, ATC, LAT is now in her third year as theassistant athletic trainer at the University of MassachusettsBoston. O’Sullivan serves as the primary contact forplayer rehabilitation, acute care, and game day coverage for UMassBoston’s 18 varsity programs.
Since arriving at UMass in October of 2010, O’Sullivan hashelped establish new protocols for the department as well asconduct research which has paved the way for facility upgradesincluding a brand new gym floor in the Clark Athletic Center.
No stranger to the Division III world, O’Sullivan servedas the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Simmons College before makingthe jump to the harbor campus. Prior to her arrival atSimmons she served as an Athletic Training Co-Op Student atDivision I Harvard University.
Known throughout the athletic training world as a tirelessworker, O’Sullivan has also worked with the Cape Cod BaseballLeague, which is regarded as one of the top professional prospectleagues in the country. She has also worked as a PhysicalTherapy Aide at Sports Center Physical Therapy in Falmouth,Massachusetts.
O’Sullivan graduated from Northeastern University in 2009with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. In hersenior year she served as a presenter for the NortheasternUniversity Research and Scholarship Expo. O’Sullivancurrently holds multiple athletic training certifications from boththe state of Massachusetts and from the nationalorganization.
