NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – UMass Boston Men's Indoor Track closed out their regular season on Saturday afternoon at the Westfield State Invitational hosted by Smith College. Five different Beacon runners scored points for the team in the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman Melvin Wiltshire led the way for UMass Boston in the Men's 60 Meter Dash with a 7.45 second finish to take second place and eight points for the team after notching a 7.58 second qualifier in the preliminaries.
Wiltshire once again paced the Beacons in the Men's 200 Meter Dash with a fourth-place finish in a time of 24.62 seconds to give his team two more points on the afternoon.
Freshman
Frank Boua also had a big day, finishing second in the Men's 400 Meter Dash in a time of 55.67 seconds. It was the first time this season in which Boua has run the event.
Freshman
Rob Cannon and junior Christopher Druding tacked on six combined points for UMass Boston in the Men's 1,000 Meter Run after finishing back-to-back in third and fourth place. Cannon recorded a time of 2:49.30, his best on the season, while Druding finished in 3:10.33 which was his first appearance in the event.
Graduate student
Jimmy Cannon nearly won the Men's One Mile Run, finishing in second place with a time of 4:32.29 which was less than two seconds behind Taban Manyok who won the race from Fitchburg State.

UMass Boston competes next weekend at the Little East Conference Indoor Track Championship scheduled to take place at Plymouth State University next Saturday.
