Barrack and Florentino Cited by the Little East Conference

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior pitcher Will Barrack (Lancaster, Va.) and freshman designated hitter Gerard Florentino (West Roxbury, Mass.) have been honored by the Little East Conference for their standout play as Barrack has been named Pitcher of the Week, while Florentino has earned Rookie of the Week honors.

The weekly honors mark the first for both Barrack and Florentino in their careers.  Barrack a 6'5" righty earned the Pitcher of the Week honors after matching the program record for strikeouts in a game with 16, which he dealt in the 5-4 win over Concordia University (Wis.) last Wednesday.  Barrack allowed two earned runs on three hits and recorded at-least two punchouts in six of the seven innings he was on the hill.

Florentino was redhot last week for the Beacons as the freshman hitter went 7-for-14 to hit .500 from the dish.  The big righty hitter recorded at least one hit in each of his five games, including a 3-for-5 showing in the win over Concordia.  His lone RBI of the week came in the one-run win over the Falcons, which at that time made it 4-3 in favor of the Beacons.
