BOSTON, Mass. – After another impressive week, senior outfielder Nick Herzog (Riverhead, N.Y.) has been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week, which features the top players throughout Division III whose performances were amongst the best in the country.
Last week, Herzog led the Beacons to three straight wins, including a conference sweep of Rhode Island College. In 18 at-bats he finished with 12 hits for a .667 average. He tallied eight runs scored, one triple, three home runs, 10 RBI, one walk, and one stolen base. He slugged a team-leading 1.278 and is now tied for the program record for career triples with 11. He currently is riding a 13-game extra base hit streak, and has homered four times in the last three games.
The New York native is now the third Beacon in the last three weeks to earn a spot on the national team of the week, with reliever Bobby Tramondozzi (Peabody, Mass.) and fellow outfielder Nick Cotraro (Beverly, Mass.) also earning the weekly honor.
