BOSTON, Mass.—The #14 UMass Boston men's hockey team announced their 2013-14 schedule Tuesday afternoon. Peter Belisle's squad will look to build upon their 2012-13 campaign when the Beacons ended the year 19-6-2 and finished in second place in the ECAC East.
UMass Boston will look for their seventh consecutive victory against intrastate rival UMass Dartmouth when the Beacons open their season Saturday November 2 at 4:30 p.m. in North Dartmouth.
The Beacons will open their ECAC East conference slate the next weekend, when they host New England College Friday November 8 at 7 p.m.
After a four-game run against conference opponents, the Beacons will play the rest of their non-conference schedule in late November through January, with a pair of tournaments highlighting the schedule.
Belisle's squad will look to repeat as Manchester P.A.L/Stovepipe Classic Champions November 30 and 31, when they travel to Southern New Hampshire University for the four-team Thanksgiving tournament.
The Beacons will open 2014 with another four-game tournament, as they host the 49th Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament at the Clark Athletic Center Ice Arena. The defending champions will open the tournament January 4 against Suffolk University at 1 p.m., while the second semifinal matchup pits 2012 Codfish Champions Tufts University against Southern New Hampshire University.
UMass Boston will finish off the season with 12 straight conference contests, highlighted by their home-and-home weekend against defending ECAC East Tournament Champion Babson College on January 24-25 and a pair of games against perennial power Norwich University (January 10 and February 15).
