UMass Boston (1-7)
Lasell College (7-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading 6-1 heading into the halftime break, the Beacons looking to end a recent losing streak thought they could carry that first half momentum into the final two frames. Unfortunately, the host Lasers turned the tables on the Beacons as they went on a 7-0 run in the third, while adding the two crucial goals in the fourth.
UMB tried to post a comeback of their own in the fourth, with Donny Bickford (Braintree, Mass.) and Cam Hladick (Natick, Mass.) each finding the back of the net. Hladick cut the deficit to two with 1:42 left in regulation. However, the Lasers defense held strong as the Beacons attack could not find the back of the net for the remainder of the contest.
Colby Buccheri led the Lasers attack with three goals. Jordan Hines scored the clinching goal for Lasell at the 1:54 mark the of the third quarter.
