BOSTON, Mass. – In their first match since returning home from Florida, the men's tennis (4-1) team continued to roll as they shutout Newbury College (0-1) by the final of 9-0 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match.
Saturday's match got off to a great start for the Beacons as Alex Loyer (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Seth Shavers (Boston, Mass.) made quick work of their Newbury opponents with a solid 8-0 victory. Himanshu Dubey (Lucknow, India) and Lyle Analetto (Belmont, Mass.) followed suit as they recorded an 8-3 win over Wayne Gethers and John Morgan.
Once in singles play the Beacons were even more impressive as David Hernandez (Bogota, Colombia), Charles Lai (Boston, Mass.), and Dubey each recorded 6-0, 6-0 decisions. Shavers notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at third flight and Analetto earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth flight.
Men's Tennis returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Eastern Nazarene College for a 3 p.m. non-conference match.
