Paul Braude returns to his alma mater for his second-straight season working with the men’s tennis program in the fall of 2019. Braude will also be working with the women’s tennis team beginning in the fall of 2019.
He returned to his alma mater in the spring of 2019 and helped lead the men’s tennis program to the Little East Conference Regular Season and Tournament Titles.
After starting his career at Division II Southern New Hampshire University, Braude played his final three seasons in Beacons Blue. He was consistently in the top two spots in the Beacons’ lineup, including playing at number one singles and doubles as a senior in 2009. He still ranks as one of the Beacons’ all-time program leaders on the men's side in matches played (83), doubles matches won in a single-season (11) and career doubles victories (24). Braude also was involved within the athletics community, as he served as the Vice President of the UMass Boston Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Braude began his lengthy and impressive coaching career during his final year as an undergraduate. The former captain of the Beacons served as a student-assistant coach under former Beacons head coach Eric Berg during the 2009-10 season.
He then attended Regis College (Mass.) for graduate school and worked as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s tennis programs for two years.
After graduating from Regis, Braude has worked at the Mid-Cape Racquet and Tennis Club, the Barnstable Yacht Club and the Country Club in Brookline. Most recently, he took over as the head professional of the Mashantum Tennis Club and was also named the manager of the club as well in 2018. In additional to the Mashantum Tennis Club, Braude volunteers with the Dennis Yarmouth High School Girl’s Tennis Team and is the owner and operator of Cape Cod Tennis. The organization is a start-up focused on adding more public clinics and lessons for the residents of Cape Cod.
He has also stayed active in the tennis community by playing in tournaments. Paul won the National Tennis Northeast 4.5 Division in Miami.
Braude graduated from UMass Boston in 2009 with a degree in Economics. He has a wife, Annie, and a daughter, Riley.
