LA CROSEE, Wis. – For only third time in program history the a member of the men's track and field team became a two-time All-American, as sophomore high jumper Carl Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) recorded a seventh place finish at the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet on the campus of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
With his All-American honor Joseph became the program's first two-time All-American high jumper. The Brockton native recorded a leap of 6-08.00 feet to earn 1.50 points overall. The last time UMB had a two-time All-American in a field event was Rob Grieco who finished in second place at the 1997 Outdoor Championship, before winning the program's first individual indoor national championship in 1998.
Also competing in the high jump for the Beacons was sophomore Tylor Hart (Newton, Mass.) as he made his national championship debut. The 2012 Little East Conference Indoor Rookie Field Athlete of the Year recorded a jump of 6-04.75 feet to finish in 19th place overall.
Winning the 2013 individual national championship in the high jump was Heidelberg's Nathan Davis as he recorded a height of 6-11.50 feet.
