Eric Ashe joined the UMass Boston coaching staff after fiveyears of competing at Division I Boston University. From 2006-2011,Ashe was a two-year captain, three-time MVP for cross-country andan America East Conference champion in the 3,000 meterSteeplechase. He also led the cross-country team to a teamconference championship in 2010. He now serves as a volunteerassistant for both of BU's track and field and cross countryteams.
Ashe's primary responsibility with the Beacons is working withthe team's distance runners and also serves as the assistant crosscountry coach.
In June of 2013, Ashe began working with the Greater BostonRunning Company based out of Newton, MA. He currently servesas the running store sales associate and running coach. Amongst his responsibilities is meet with technical representativesto expand product knowledge. Ashe also educates customers onappropriate product features and designs. He also plansspecial events to promote the brand and coached beginner runners inpreparation for the 5K road race.
At Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in Whitman,Massachusetts, Ashe was a captain of the cross-country and trackteams and was runner-up in the State Championship Mile, as asenior.
Originally from Hanson, Massachusetts, Ashe graduated fromBoston University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree inInternational Relations and in 2012 with a Master of CriminalJustice.
Coach Ashe has completed the Level 1 course for USA track andField.
