KEENE, N.H. – Led by Jimmy Cannon (Quincy, Mass.) and Adriana Fredo (Brockton, Mass.) the men's and women's cross-country teams competed at the 2017 Little East Conference Championship hosted by Keene State College Saturday afternoon. The men's team finished in 5th place, while the women finished in 7th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In his first conference championship meet, Cannon posted a time of 26:38 to finish in 13th place overall. Right behind him was William Barrett (Everett, Mass.) who finished in 15th place with a final time of 27:09.
For Fredo she recorded a final time of 22:35 to finish in 49th place overall in her final LEC championship meet.
Recording the second fastest time for the women's squad was Patriciah Mulinge (Brockton, Mass.) who finished with a time of 23:26.
Back in the men's race Prosper Lubega (Watertown, Mass.) closed out the 8K race with a time of 28:01, followed by a 28:18 finish from Cam Ford (Worcester, Mass.). Jack Bushway (Walpole, Mass.) and Jack Davis (Southwick, Mass.) closed out Saturday's meet with times of 28:38 and 29:43 respectively.
The next Beacon to cross the finish line in the women's race was Faye Martin with her time of 25:46. Chantal Clerveaux (Boston, Mass.) finished just two seconds behind her teammate with a time of 25:48. Caroline Mullen (Marshfield, Mass.) posted a time of 25:59 to close out the trio of Beacons runners. Natasha Wright, Olivia Burnes (Paxton, Mass.), and Ashley Hernandez (Miami, Fla.) also competed on Saturday and finished with times of 26:39, 27:14, and 27:58 respectively.
The Beacons will compete at the NCAA New England Regional Championship meet, which will be hosted by the University of Southern Maine next Saturday.
