Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh At LEC Championship Meet

DARTMOUTH, Mass.—UMass Boston men's cross country earned a seventh-place finish Saturday afternoon at the 2019 Little East Conference Championship Meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Senior Cameron Chase (Lutz, Fla.) ran a season-best 26:45.13 to lead the Beacons. He crossed the finish line in 18th-place overall. 

Fellow senior Prosper Lubega (Watertown, Mass.) came across the line second on the team, as he finished 40th overall with a time of 27:49.17. 

Freshman Jon Symons (Northborough, Mass.) finished third on the Beacons with a time of 28:16.29. 

Junior Jonathan Reed (Abington, Mass.) returned to action and ended the race in 30:46.89. 

The final two Beacons finished with four-places of each other. Alejandro Maldonado, Jr. (Dedham, Mass.) posted a time of 32:33.52 and Anthony Lynch (Brockton, Mass.) crossed the line in 33:14.42. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

UMass Boston will close out their season on Saturday, November 16, when they travel to Bowdoin College for the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships.
