Eric Ashe joined the UMass Boston coaching staff after five years of competing and one year as a volunteer assistant coach for Boston University. From 2006-2011, Ashe was a two-year captain, three-time MVP for cross-country and an America East Conference champion in the 3K Steeplechase. He also led the cross-country team to a team conference championship in 2010.
In his first season with the Beacons, Ashe worked tirelessly with the squad's long distance runners to create more regimented routines, while helping everyone on the team see major gains throughout the season.
At Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in Whitman, Massachusetts, Ashe was a captain of the cross-country and track teams and was runner-up in the State Championship Mile, as a senior.
Originally from Hanson, Massachusetts, Ashe graduated from Boston University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and in 2012 with a Master of Criminal Justice.
Coach Ashe has completed the Level 1 course for USA track and Field.
