NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—Olivia Murphy (Canton, Mass.) continued her dominance of the Little East, earning her fourth straight LEC Rookie of the Week Monday and fifth overall, the league office announced Monday morning.
The freshman has been one of the top players in the Little East Conference all season long and earned some more regional recognition Monday, as she was recognized as the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week Monday for the second time this season.
Murphy averaged 20.5 points per game and 10 rebounds in a pair of conference contests. The freshman forward knocked down 44.7 percent of her shots and added two assists and two blocks per game.
In Tuesday's contest at Southern Maine, Murphy recorded her seventh collegiate double-double, with a team-high 18 points and 11 rebounds. She added three blocks, three assists and four offensive rebounds in the loss.
Murphy followed up the contest with her fourth 20-point game of her career, finishing with a team-high 23 points and nine rebounds in a 71-62 loss to Western Connecticut State. The Canton, Mass. native knocked down 55 percent (11-of-20) of her shots in the game and added nine rebounds and two steals.
