BOSTON, Mass.—For the second time in her career, senior forward Olivia Murphy has been named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, the website announced Tuesday morning.
Murphy has led the Beacons to a 3-0 start to the season, by averaging 20.3 points and 19 rebounds per game in three contests. The honorable mention All-American has recorded three double-doubles and shot 52.9 percent, while pulling down nine offensive boards and blocking 3.3 shots per game.
She opened the season with a pair of monster performances, en-route to being named the Tournament Most Valuable Player of the Pepsi Mariner Classic. Murphy recorded 19 points and 23 rebounds in the Beacons' opener against Endicott College, before adding 18 points and 16 rebounds in the championship win over Maine Maritime.
On Saturday, Murphy recorded her best game this season, as she finished with 24 points and 18 rebounds, in a 61-51 win over Framingham State University.
Through three games, Murphy leads the Little East Conference in rebounds and blocks per game and ranks tied for second in scoring.
Murphy and the Beacons return to action Tuesday night, when they host Fitchburg State University at 5:30 p.m.
