WATERVILLE, Maine - Katie Loiselle (Glocester, R.I.) played a part in three of the four goals to help lead women's hockey to a 4-3 non-conference victory over Colby College Sunday afternoon at Alfond Rink.
UMass Boston (2-6-1 overall) scored three times in the first period and once in the third and held off a late comeback by the Mules to end a three-game losing streak.
Colby (3-3 overall), playing without regular goaltender Brianne Wheeler, gave up three goals in a span of about six minutes in the opening period.
The Beacons made it 2-0 at 12:16 when Tori Pizzuto (Waterbury, Conn.) lost control of the puck on a breakaway attempt. She regained control of the puck on the left side and centered it to Loiselle in front for the score.
