MARSHFIELD, Mass.—UMass Boston senior Kaleigh Beauregard (Gaylord, Mich.) and junior Caty Flagg (Metheun, Mass.) were named the New England Hockey Conference Player and Goaltender of the Week on Monday afternoon.
The pair helped lead UMass Boston defeat Bowdoin College for the first time since 2011.
Beauregard recorded a goal and two assists during the 12th Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament. She recorded an assist on the Beacons' lone goal on Saturday against Wesleyan University. The senior added an assist on the game-winning goal and an empty-net goal in Sunday's win over the Polar Bears.
With her three points, Beauregard doubled her season total in goals (two) and points (six). Monday's award marks the first weekly honors of Beauregard's career.
Flagg earned her first NEHC Goalie of the Week honors as a Beacon, after posting 29 saves in Sunday's 2-0 shutout win.
The junior transfer stopped 15 shots in the first period alone and ended with 29 saves in her first win and first shutout as a Beacon. She was making her first appearance since being sidelined with an injury on November 2.
In three games as a Beacon, Flagg has made 74 saves on 76 shots for a .974 save percentage.
UMass Boston will return to conference action on Friday, when they travel to take on the University of Southern Maine at 4 p.m.
