NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—For the second time this season and the second time in her career, senior forward Tayla Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Andrews recorded three goals and two assists to lead UMass Boston to a 2-0 week last week. The Beacons captain registered the game-winning goal in a victory over regionally-ranked Brandeis University, before posting a season-high six points against Plymouth State University.
After 108 minutes of back-and-forth play, Andrews lifted the Beacons to their first non-conference win of the season against a regionally-ranked foe, with the game-winning tally against Brandeis with 79 seconds remaining.
Saturday she took her game to the next level, recording two goals and two assists in the second half of a 5-1 win over Plymouth State University. After a 1-1 first half, Andrews had a part in every goal in the second half, helping women's soccer clinch at least a top-two seed in the Little East Conference Tournament.
