BOSTON, Mass.--After completing their first practice of the preseason, the UMass Boston women's soccer team and their coaching staff took part in the StrikeoutALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The Beacons who were challenged by former UMass Boston Student Body President Jesse Wright and the team called out the UMass Boston Men's Soccer and UMass Boston Volleyball teams. In addition to completing the challenge, the women's soccer team will be donating money to the ALS Association.
The ALS Association's mission includes providing care services to assist people with ALS and their families through a network of chapters working in communities across the nation and a global research program focused on the discovery of treatments and eventually a cure for the disease. In addition, The Association's public policy efforts empower people to advance public policies in our nation's Capital that respond to the needs of people with ALS.
