WESTFIELD, Mass. – Sprinter Hulerie McGuffie (Lynn, Mass.) qualified for the finals in the 400 meter dash as she recorded the fastest time of all Division III sprinters in the event with a time of 56.55 seconds at the NEICAAA Championship meet hosted by Westfield State University.
McGuffie, was the lone DIII athlete to qualify for the finals in the event, as she will take on six DI sprinters and one DII sprinter tomorrow afternoon in the finals. Carly Muscaro from Merrimack University recorded the fastest time in the prelims with her time of 55.36 seconds.
Also in action on Friday was Renee O'Brien (Stoneham, Mass.), who closed out the 100 meter prelims, with a time of 12.76 seconds. In the 200 meter dash prelims, it was Anisha Trappier (Taunton, Mass.), who posted a time of 25.75 seconds.
The Beacons return to action tomorrow afternoon when they compete in the men's and women's high jump, the finals of the women's 400 meter dash, the women's 4x100 meter relay, and the women's discus throw.
