Women's Track and Field Competes at ECSU Invitational

MANSFIELD, Conn. – The women's track and field team put together a fifth-place finish Friday afternoon as they competed at the 11th Annual Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED

On the afternoon, the Beacons competed in a total of six different events.  In the 100-meter dash, Gesheca Boswell led the sprinters with a time of 13.35 seconds which earned her eighth place overall.  Olivia Burnes finished in 10th place, while Nana Anane recorded an 11th place finish overall.

Also competing in the 100 was Krystal Alvarez who recorded a time of 13.80, Katie Olson who finished with a time of 13.96, and Arriannah Gervais, who finished with a time of 17.29.

In the 200-meter dash, Brianna Steele took 16th place with a time of 30.61 seconds, while Caroline Mullen finished in 19th place with a time of 34.12 seconds.

Maggie Hale was the lone competitor in the 800-meter run as she recorded a time of 3:00.68. 

Olson and Alanna Olton both competed in the 100-meter hurdles.  Olson finished in fourth place with a time of 16.78 seconds, with Olton finishing right behind her teammate with a time of 17.12 seconds.

In the high jump, Burnes finished with a leap of 4-07.00 feet to finish in fifth place.  Ruth Labranche also took fifth with her final distance of 15-00.50 feet in the long jump.
