BOSTON, Mass. – With a combined .437 hitting percentage volleyball cruised to their seventh win of the season as they dominated Brandeis University by the final of 3-0 Wednesday evening in the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
From the opening serve UMass Boston controlled every aspect of Wednesday's match. The Beacons held Brandeis to a -.131 hitting percentage as they earned a 25-8 win in the first, a 25-10 win in the second, and a 25-11 win in the third.
Carrying UMass throughout the contest, was a trio of Beacons hitters in Eileen Shi (San Francisco, Calif.), Colleen Koen (Centerville, Mass.), and Julia Murphy (Canton, Mass.). Shi posted a season-high 14 kills in the victory, and hit .500 on the night. For Koen she also had a big night hitting .583 scoring seven kills on 12 attempts.
However, it was Murphy who stood out as the senior hitter hit a season-best .700 with her seven kills on 10 attempts. The Canton native was also red-hot at the baseline scoring a career-high eight service aces, while at the net Murphy moved to within five solo blocks of tying the program record. Murphy tallied five solo blocks and one block assist in her best match of the year by-far.
