KEENE, N.H. – Led by Colleen Koen's (Centerville, Mass.) match-high 10 kills volleyball remained undefeated in Little East Conference play as they cruised past Keene State College with a 3-0 win Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After cruising to a 25-10 win in the first set, the Beacons had to hold off a late run by the Owls as they managed to take a 25-20 win in the second. In the third set, UMass had to overcome a slow start but quickly took control of the final frame. The Beacons notched a 25-17 victory to secure the shutout and to remain atop the conference standings, as the lone undefeated team in the LEC.
Koen's 10 kills carried the Beacons to the crucial victory, as the senior outside finished with a .429 hitting percentage as she was set 29 times, while only being charged with one error. Right behind her was sophomore Eileen Shi (San Francisco, Calif.) finished second in the match with eight kills, and also had six digs.
Elizabeth Glavan (Edina, Minn.) combined for 29 digs against her long-time rival and also scored one of the team's five aces. Christina Elliott (Camas, Wash.) continues to fuel the Beacons offense, as the setter totaled 18 assists.
The Beacons as a team combined for six total blocks, with Julia Murphy (Canton, Mass.) totaling three block assists, followed by Koen who had two.
